Because certain times tables always end in particular numbers. The numbers in the 10 times tables always end with a 0 e.g 10, 20, 30... The only rule I can think of is that the 6 times table is multiples of six. 1 x 6 = 6 2 x 6 = 12 3 x 6 = 18 and so on.
