Kilowatts means power P and amperes mean electrical current I. That does not go together. Power is not current. There is nothing equal. 1 kilowatt means 1000 watts. You can make a calculation if you know the voltage V. P = V times I I = P / V = 1000 watts / x volt

You can't convert that directly. kW is a unit of power; ampere is a unit of current. The relation is:

power = current x voltage

This is only strictly true for DC; for AC, there is an additional "power factor". However, this power factor is often close to one.

You get watt from taking amps x volts, so the answer depends on what voltage you have. At 1000 Volts you only need one (1) amp to get 1 kW. At 100 volts you need 10 amps to get 1 kW. Etc Etc
