49 bags. The density of loose sand is about 90 lbs/cu. ft. There are 27 cu. ft. in a cu. yard. Therefore 27 * 90 equals a total weight of 2,430 lbs. for a cu. yard of sand. Given 50 lbs. per bag of sand, you divide 2430 by 50 and get 48.6 bags of sand. Round up to 49.

(Assuming you mean cubic yards, which are commonly called "yards")

About 135.

Sand weighs approximately 100 lbs per cubic foot. There are 27 cubic feet in a yard. So 2.5 yards will weigh 6750 lbs.

2000 lbs in a ton, right?, 2000/50 = 40 bags. but since you want 1.9 tons the equation is 1.9 x 2000 = 3800; 3800/50= 76 bags. This isn't your homework, right?

Is sand heavier then salt?

Sand is heavier than salt That's why sand bags are used, rather than salt bags.

How many kg sand in 1 ton?

That question cannot be answered, because you ask for a length or distance unit in yards and than for weight in metric tonnes. Length and weight does not go together. Sand is so very different as a naturally occurring granular material of finely divided rock and mineral particles. Sand particles range in from 0.0625, or 1⁄16 mm to 2 millimeters in diameter. An individual particle in this range size is termed a sand grain. The next smaller size class is silt, that are particles smaller than 0.0625 mm and down to 0.004 mm in diameter. The specific weight, also known as the unit weight, is the weight per unit volume of a material. The density of the material, mass per unit volume, is measured in kg/m3. You have to know many more parameters. Is the sand wet or dry. What is the weight of the water in it? Even if you meant "cubic" yards, the calculation of a weight cannot work. The question: "How many cubic yards of pure water make a metric tonne?" is easy to answer.

Need to know type of sand?

There are a lot more types than you'd think! The white sand of tropical and subtropical settings are comprised of limestone and may have coral and shell fragments. The gypsum sand dunes of the White Sands National Monument are famous for their bright white colour.Arkose is a sandstone with lots of feldspar in it and granite rock outcrop. Some sands have chlorite, glauconite, gypsum or magnetite. Some sands come from volcanic basalts and obsidian. Many sands have iron impurities within the quartz crystals of the sand, making them appear a deep yellow colour. Some sand deposits have garnet (a type of gem) including other small gemstones.Bet you didn't know sand was so glamorous!

Why is there no sand on so many of the world's shorelines?

Sand only occurs when a coastline has been exposed to ocean surf for a long enough period of time that the water has slowed eroded rocks into smaller and smaller particles until sand is created. Any shoreline that lacks sand is simply not old enough for this to have happened.

I am allowed 10 cubic yards of sand annually for our beach at cabin how many 50 lb bags would this equate to?

10 cubic yards is 270 cubic feet and sand weighs 100 pounds per cubic feet for total of 27000 pounds which is 27000/50 = 540 bags. Sounds like you need to have it trucked in.

How many 50 lb bags of sand equals 7 yards?

It's impossible to tell until you define the size (length and width) of the sandbags and how many you pile onto each other to form your line. Sand bags are usually used to stop water when there's flooding and a single line of bags wouldn't be enough to keep the water out.
