7(y - 6) = 28

  1. Do inside the brackets first. Since it is an algebraic statement we can go no further with it.

  2. Multiply the coefficient '7' to each term inside the brackets .

Hence

7y - 42 = 28

Add '42' to both sides

7y = 70

Divide both sides by ;7;

y = 10 The answer!!!!!
