Trick question. The pool is empty but the drain is open. With an open drain, the pool will never fill, unless the water entering exceeds the water draining.

check to see if drain to unit outside in draining may be clogged
A trap on a positive drain is used to avoid the 'contaminated' air in a HVAC system from traveling through the condensate line and entering into areas where it is unwanted. The trap becomes necessary when one condensate line is used for multiple units, especially if it is tied to other negative pressure drain traps. The negative pressure drain traps may not drain properly if they have to overcome the positive non- trapped pressure of another unit. It allows the condensate to drain more evenly, as well. Without a trap, the positive pressure from the unit can blow air through the drain with the water and cause 'spitting.' A trap on a positive pressure system may not always be necessary, but it is good practice to trap every drain and trap it properly. There are guidelines for both positive and negative pressure traps. Always follow the manufacturers recommendations.
Yes, if the joint between the 2 width of pipes is made to be tightly closed so that no leakage would occur. The best would be to use a connector with a 1 inch diameter at one end and a diameter of 1.5 inches at the other end. Or maybe, if the 2 pipes are vertical, to put the 1 inch pipe into the 1.5 inches pipe and seal the 2 pipes with a good amount of resistant tape so that the water will go straight from one pipe to the other with no leakage. But with hot water draining from the washer, even with the cold water, the tape solution is probably just a temporary solution, because the tape would break down after some time.
An automatic trap primer works by pumping water into a drain trap. The water is sent from a cold water line in small amounts each time the line runs water. There must be an air gap between the drain water and the fresh water line. The simpler manual trap primer is provided by your usage of the drain. For a seldom used drain pour water into it every few months. A little mineral oil in the drain will slow the evaporation by sealing the water from the room air.

It will be on the very bottom of the radiator either the left or right side. If you do not see a drain plug it might not have one. If it does not have one it requires you to remove the lower radiator hose to drain the radiator.
All dishwashers are self draining. If it doesn't drain possibly the drain or bottom pan filter is blocked - or there is a problem with the pump. All dishwashers are self draining. If it doesn't drain possibly the drain or bottom pan filter is blocked - or there is a problem with the pump.

Drain WHAT? Water draining or Freon RECYCLE
Unless you are draining into the pan the drain plug should be firmly in place.
Your kitchen sink should already be vented if there is a p-trap draining to the wall. if it is an s-trap it is not vented and not to present code requirements. The dishwasher drain goes into the side of the disposal and the disposal should drain to the trap. A separate vent is not required for the disposal or dishwasher as the trap for the sink is what requires a vent.
