Suppose the side of the triangle is x metres.
Then side of square is x + 10 metres
so that the perimeter of the square is 4*(x+10) metres
Perimeter of the triangle is 3*x metres
So 4*(x+10) = 3*(3*x) metres
ie 4x + 40 = 9x or 40 = 5x ie x = 8 metres

I am not sure what you mean by a "fundamental" number (I've never heard of that term being used with reference to the numbers themselves); I guess you mean an "integer". For a triangle to exist the shorter two sides must be longer than the longest side. Thus there is an upper limit to the length of the longest side of a triangle. For a given perimeter, the longest side must be less than half the perimeter. For a perimeter of 42cm this means that the longest side is less than 42 cm ÷ 2 = 21 cm. If we focus on the longest side of a triangle, as it becomes shorter, one or both of the other two sides must increase in length, they can equal but never be longer than this longest side. Thus there is also a lower limit below which the longest side cannot be; this is when all three sides are equal and the triangle is an equilateral triangle. For a perimeter of 42cm the longest side is greater than or equal to 42 cm ÷ 3 = 14 cm So with a perimeter of 42 cm we have: 14 cm ≤ longest side < 21 cm Which means for an integer length, the longest side can be 14 cm, 15 cm, 16 cm, 17 cm, 18 cm, 19 cm or 20 cm.
One possibility is an irregular triangle with a side of 5 units.

Length of longer leg = 9.4 tan 60 = 16.28 feet Length of hypotenuse = 9.4 ÷ cos 60 = 18.8 feet Perimeter of triangle = 9.4 + 16.28 + 18.8 = 44.48 feet

the perimeter of a triangle is 86 inches. the largest side is four inches less than twice the smallest side. the third side is 10 inches longer than the smallest side. what is the length of each side?
The minimum perimeter is when the triangle is an equilateral triangle. The perimeter of any other triangle with the same area will be longer. In the case of an equilateral triangle area = (√3)/4 × side² → side = √(4×6.5 cm²/√3) → perimeter = 3 × side = 3 × √(4×6.5 cm²/√3) ≈ 11.62 cm → The triangle has a perimeter greater than or equal to approx 11.62 cm.
Suppose the side of the square is x cm.Then its perimeter is 4x cm.The perimeter of the square is 3 cm more than that of the triangleso the perimeter of the triangle is 4x - 3 cm.Also, if the side of the square is x cm, the side of the triangle must be x + 112 cm.Then its perimeter must be 3*(x + 112) = 3x = 336 cm.Equating the two expressions for the perimeter of the triangle,4x - 3 = 3x + 336therefore x = 339 cm.The square has sides of 339 cm and a perimeter of 1356 cm.The triangle has sides of 451 cm and a perimeter of 1353 cm.

Let x be the side of the triangle. Thus 4(x-5) is the perimeter of the square.Balance by the perimeter relation,3x = 7+4(x-5)Solve for x,x = 13 inches
