if any of the seconds throw the towel in the fight is stopped eveen if the ref thinks the fighter can go on the fight is still halted once the towel is thrown in there is no turning back the fight is halted contest is over I guess it depends on the peculiarities of the rules of the sanctioning body. however, as a "RULE" it is the ref, and only the ref who has the mandate to stop the bout. This is still applicable when the corner throws the towel. The towel is tossed in as an indication that the trainer does not think his fighter can continue therefore the ref will usually stop the bout at this point. This is not necessarily always the case however, if the ref believes that the fighter can continue, he can (and i have seen this happen first hand) have the bout continue. It is the ref's decision, just becasue the towel goes in does not mean the fight is over, the ref can either stop the fight or throw the towel back!!
Athol McQueen. The referee stopped the contest 40 seconds into the first round.
The simple subject is "referee" and the complete subject is "the referee."
Play is stopped and a goal is not awarded. The restart will depend on the reason the referee blew the whistle.
In the NHL, this usually depends on the severity of the contact, and the decision to halt play is left to the discretion of the referee. According to international game rules, when the goalie is shot or struck in the head by the puck the game is stopped.
He cannot change his mind about whether play has stopped. That happened the instant he blew the whistle. He may change his mind about restarts, goals scored or not, misconducts, etc. until play is restarted.
Slavery was officially and legally stopped on January 1, 1863 with Abraham Lincoln's signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.
The referee or assistant has seen an offense committed by the defending team (the team without the ball) The referee will allow play to continue to give the attacking team (the one with the ball) an advantage , basically to use the ball effectively where the offence has in part stopped that happening. If there is no advantage seen the game is stopped and a penalty for the offence is awarded where the original offence took place

Where ever the football is when the knee goes down or where ever the ball is when forward progress is stopped.
The match was 21 June 1982, featured France vs. Kuwait, and was a first round match of the single elimination phase. The referee was Myroslav Ivanovych Stupar (Ukrainian). The argument consisted of the fact that a whistle was blown in the stands and the defense subsequently stopped playing. The referee, after collecting information from other sources, agreed and disallowed the goal. The decision was not a game changing one due to France winning the match with a 4-1 result. Under today's Laws of the Game and referee instruction, this is a correct decision due to the whistle being an outside agent. (Similar to a dog running onto the field and interfering with play.)

No, you can't legally. If stopped you would probably get a ticket or perhaps a warning the first time.

Unsporting behavior is a cautionable offense (yellow card). If play was stopped solely to deal with the misconduct, then the restart is an indirect free kick for the opposing team. If play was stopped for another reason, and the referee waited to deal with the misconduct, then the restart is dictated by the reason it stopped; throw-in, goal kick, etc.
