The conductors of any three phase circuit must be run in the same conduit. If the circuit requires a neutral, it must also run with the conductors in the same conduit. (If they were to be run in more than one conduit or raceway, the circuit would not operate properly.)

What do conduit connectors do?

A conduit connecter is a connecting piece used to connect two individual conduit units together. Conduit connecters can refer to both electrical conduits and pipe/plumbing related conduits.

What kind of conduit can be incasted in concrete?

steel and plastic conduits

Are ground wires required in steel or aluminum flex conduits?

Yes, any flexible conduit that has live wires drawn into it must have a ground wire also installed with the "hot" conductors. The reasoning behind this rule is that the flex in the conduit is coiled and has a long length to it. The continuation of the grounding medium through the tightness of the conduit connectors to the flex was not considered a properly secured grounding system so to overcome this weakness in the grounding system, a ground wire now has to be installed.

Is it necessary to ground at all metal junction boxes when using metal conduit or cable?

In a completely metallic conduit system it is not necessary to ground each junction box as long as the metallic system has the grounding capacity rating larger than that of the over current device protecting the circuit. The code book states what size conduits are rated at, for grounding amperages.

How is an electrical conduit installed?

An electrical conduit is commonly installed in several steps. The first step would be to carefully plan the position of the conduit and what materials that are required for the surface. Then one should execute the plan with common tools such as a screwdriver.

Is it okay to run cat5e riser wire above drop ceilings outside of conduit. Also can it be wire tied together against electrical conduit along a wall and over a natural gas pipe?

No, the cat 5 wire should cross conduits at an angle of 90 degrees. If the cat 5 wire is installed in conduit then it can be run parallel with the other conduits. Yes they can be installed above the dropped ceilings but tie them up high near the joists.

When paralleling a service must the sets of conductors be in separate conduits or can they be in the same conduit?

They can be either separated or combined. What governs the choice is the size of the service and the conductors feeding the service and the ability to physically connect metering equipment to larger size conduits. When paralleling conduits make sure all the phase wires are in their individual conduits to cancel the field effect of the wires. Eg. conduit 1 - L1 + L2 + N , conduit 2 - L1 + L2 + N. Likewise with three phase, conduit 1 - L1, L2, L3, conduit 2 L1, L2, L3.

What will happen if an adhesive is used in threads of conduits?

Then you will probably never be able to undo the conduit.

What is conduit wiring?

Conduit wiring is synonymous to wires in a pipe.

What is adequate spacing for supporting rigid metal conduit?

Conduits shall be supported at intervals not exceeding 3000mm.

How many markings should a rigid nonmetallic conduit have?

There will be at lease three and on some conduits additional information. There will be the manufacture's name, type of material the conduit is manufactured from and the diameter size of the conduit. For example Scepter PVC 100 mm (for American customers 4") conduit.

Where could one purchase a flexible conduit for DIY purposes?

Do-It-Yourself meccas Lowes and Home Depot have flexible conduits for sale online and in their physical stores. Grainger also has flexible conduits on its website.
