Best Answer

Work = force x distance.

Work is calculated in Joules (J)

Force is calculated in Newtons (N)

Distance is calculated in the metric or customary system (m., ft., mi., in. etc)

There is no conversion. These units are not compatible.

For water only multiply by 4.184 since 1 calorie = 4.184 joules, and 1 calorie is the amount of heat needed to raise 1gram of water 1 degree Celsius.

Calorie is the unit of energy in CGS system of unit.

Joule is the unit of energy in general in MKS system of units.

Now we must get the relation between these two or tables connecting these.

1 cal = 4.18 J

1 K cal = 4180 J

Suppose you rub you hands spening an energy of 4.18 J then 1 cal of heat will be produced.

==============================================

calorie and Calorie . . . "small calorie" and "large calorie" . . . the common

units of energy before the SI system of units was introduced.

"small" calorie . . . "gram" calorie

energy to warm 1 gram of water 1 degree C.

4.184 joules

"large" Calorie . . . "kilogram" Calorie, "kilocalorie", the food calorie

energy to warm 1 kilogram of water 1 degree C

1,000 small calories

4,184 joules

Note:

"Heat" is just a form of "energy". When working with their quantities,

there's no difference, and they're interchangeable.

How many joules of light energy are in 1440 watts of electrical energy?

A joule is a joule, whether it be electrical energy or light energy - although commonly, lamps are not 100% efficient. On the other hand, you can't convert joules directly to watts. Watts means joules per second (joules / second), or equivalently, joules is watts times seconds.A joule is a joule, whether it be electrical energy or light energy - although commonly, lamps are not 100% efficient. On the other hand, you can't convert joules directly to watts. What is the energy used in one second when a bulb have 40Watts.?

40 Joules, I think, as the formula for Watts is Joules/Second = Joules per second 40 Watts should equal 40 Joules per one second...

What is the watts equivalent of 231000 joules?

231,000 joules is an amount of energy, while watts are a measure of how fast energy is used or converted. 231,000 joules could be used by 1 watt running for 231,000 seconds, or 231 watts running for 1000 seconds, etc. Energy = power x time, so 1000 watts for 231 seconds is an amount of energy equal to 231,000 joules.

How do you convert Joules To fahrenheit?

You cannot convert Joules to Fahrenheit. They are two different kinds of measurements. Fahrenheit measures temperature and Joules measures energy.

How do you convert 1997436.144 Kilojoule to KiloWAtt?

You can't convert from Joules to Watts because Joules is a measure of total energy, and Watts measure energy per second.

What equals 100 watts?

That depends what you want to convert it to. Watt is a unit of power. 100 watts is equal to:0.1 kilowatts100 joules/second

Can you convert from joules to photons?

Joules is a unit of energy; watts is a unit of power. You can't just convert it. The relationship between the two is: power = energy / time in units: watts = joules / second

How many watts are 4680000000joules?

Watts are a measure of power, Joules are a measure of energy. The energy is equal to the power times the time. So if you have a power of 5 watts running for 7 seconds, that is 5x7 Joules of energy, or 35 Joules. Looked at another way, power measures how fast energy is converted. So 35 Joules converted in 7 seconds would be 5 watts of power, but it would need 35 watts to convert that energy in 1 second.

How much power in watts will an led bulb consume if its energy is 6 joules?

Joules (energy) are not equivalent to Watts (power). If something converts 6 Joules every second, it is 6 Watts. If it takes ten seconds to convert 6 Joules, its power is 0.6 Watts.Multiply the Watts by the seconds to find the Joules.CommentYou do not 'consume' power. Power is simply a rate; you cannot consume a rate! You consume energy; the rate at which you consume it is power.

How you convert 36watts in joules?

Watts is a unit of power; Joules is a unit of energy. Watts means Joules/second, so you would need to know how long a machine that uses 36 watts (for example, certain light-bulbs) is used.36 watts is simply 36 Joules per second; this is the same as 2160 Joules per minute, or 129,600 Joules per hour.Since the electricity bill is measured in kWh instead of Joule (1 kWh = 3,600,000 Ws = 3,600,000 Joule), you might also say that a device that uses 36 watts uses 0.036 kWh every hour.

How do you convert Mega Joules to Joules?

You can't convert them directly, because they measure different things. The unit for energy is the Joule. Power means how fast energy is transferred; it is measured in Joules/second, also called Watts.

What is the relationship between watts and energy output?

Watts is energy output. Watts is joules per second. Joules is energy.

How many joules are in 59.4 watts?

"59.4 watts" means "59.4 joules every second"

Calculate the power in watts used if you exert 50 joules of work in 5 seconds?

Watts is joules per second, so 50 joules in 5 seconds is 10 watts.

How do you convert Volt Ampere into Joules?

You can't. If you know the voltage (volts) and current (amperes), you can convert to power (watts), but power is not energy. Power is the rate of energy (joules per second). You need to know the time as well to determine energy.
