A triangle with side lengths 1, 2, square root(3). A scalene triangle is any triangle whose sides are all of different lengths. It may or may not have a right-angle.

Compare with isosceles triangles (2 out of 3 sides are equal in length) and equilateral triangles (all 3 sides are equal in length).
