I think you mean r2 -7r -8 = 0. If so, then factor it: (r+1)(r-8) = 0

Then set r+1 = 0, r+1-1=-1, r = -1 Set r-8 =0, r-8+8 = 8 so r = 8

Which values for a b or c can you not use the quadratic equation?

a = 0. That is because a = 0 implies that there is no quadratic term and so the equation is not a quadratic! There may be some who make claims depending on the value of the discriminant (which is b2-4ac). That is true only for elementary mathematics. In more advanced mathematics (complex analysis), the quadratic equation can be used in all cases except when a = 0: the value of the discriminant is irrelevant.a = 0. Find the possible value or values of y in the quadratic equation 4-4y-y2 equals 0?

I would clean that up a little bit to make it look like, y^2+4y-4. which will factor out into, (y+2)*(y-2) So the two possible answers is -2 and 2

How do you complete a table of values with the equation -2y 6x-2?

Given a value for the variable x, you find (calculate) the corresponding value of y. These (x, y) pairs are part of the table. You cannot complete the table because there are infinitely many possible values of x.

What are the four possible answer types you could get for a quadratic equation?

you could get irrational values for x, rational values for x, imaginary values for x, and perfect squares for x. although perfect squares are rational answers so i guess i can think of three possible answer types. :) oh you can get zero for the value of x. there you go.

How do you get the points to graph a quadratic function?

The quadratic equation is y=ax^2 +bx +c. So, you substitute in the values of a, b, and c to the quadratic formula (x= -b +/- \|b^2-4ac all over 2a) in order to find the x value then, substitute in x to the quadratic equation and solve. You will have point (x,y) to graph

When plotting points for graphing a quadratic equation be sure to choose values of x that are greater than and less than the value of x in the?

from the equation using the formula -b/2a to find x value. from there substitute values of x before and after in equation.for example if x is 2 use other x values as 1 and 3.

How did you find each product of quadratic equations?
