ten more than five times a number
Five (5) more than (+) three times a number (3x) is (=) five times the number (5x) less (-) three (3) 5 + 3x = 5x - 3 x = 4
4x + 5 > 7
The number is 9. 4x + 15 = 5x + 6 4(9) + 15 = 5(9) + 6 51 = 51
the number is xso the answer would be4x+5=17
Four more than three times a number
Let's name the first number "X" and the other number "Y" thus: 2X+5Y is the same thing as twice a number more than five times another
I may be wrong on this, but I think the answer is "No Solution". Can you redo the question with any perenthesis or other symbols?
4x + 6
Expressed algebraically, this is equal to 5x + 4 = 24 In this case, the x would equal 4.
Represent the number by n. The equation is 5n - 1 = 3n +5, and the solution is n = 3.
There are usually four or five. You can read more about them, below.
Its always a different answer, you burke..... :)
4 + 3(n).
if D is the number of dogs then5D is five times the number of dogs, and 5D + 3 is three more than five times the number of dogs
3n + 4
3x + 5 = 29
