I dont really think it does...but here is a way to look at those kinds of problems.
Problem: Round 285 to the nearest tens.
Work: Look at the tens place. The 8 is in the tens place, correct? Yes. Underline it. Then draw a little arrow underneath the underline to the 5, which is the number to the right of the 8. Look at that number. Is it 5 or over? Yes it is. Round up one. This means make the 8 a 9, and then all the rest of the numbers will become a 0.
Answer: 290
the purpose of a number line is to help math.
On a number line, 8732 is closer to 9000 than it is to 8000.
Would, 89,651 be closer to 0 or 100,000? It would be closer to 100,000 on the number line.
If one were to round the number 12.45 to another number, there are a couple of options. First, one can round the number to 12.5 or one can round the number to 13.
Press MODE. The second line will say FLOAT and then have the numbers 1-9. If FLOAT is selected, the calculator will not round. If a number is selected, the calculator will round to that number of decimal places. For example, if you wanted to round everything to 3 decimal places, you would select "3". You can also use the round command. To get to it, press MATH, select NUM and the top and choose the second option, "round(". Type the number and then the decimal place you want to round to, separated by a comma. For example, if you wanted to round 2.569 to 2 decimal places, you would type round(2.569,2)

Hi
The answer is in the picture
It depends. If the number was how many kilometres down the road I was I would not want to round it. If the number was a square root that I was trying to calculate with, I might.
