Best Answer

Measure the weight of the full cylinder and note down as m1
Note down the tare weight of the cylinder marked on the cylinder and note down t1
the m1 - t1 = M the weight of gas in Kilograms
multiply the wt of gas in Kgs with 0.9403 ie. M x 0.9403 gives the total cubic meter of acetylene gas in cylinders

Note: One gram of Acetyle gas measures 0.9403 litres at 27 degree centigrade and 760 mm of Mercury pressure.

Note down the Water Capacity in lts of the cylinder marked on the cylinder as WC.

Take the pressure (in Kgs) of the full cylinder as Pr.

Total gas in the cylinder in cubic meters=(WC*Pr)/1000

What is back to back pressure testing for hydraulic cylinders?

Hydraulic cylinders can be tested dynamically by connecting the test cylinder with a master cylinder mounted within a rigid frame structure. Usually the test cylinder is operated with a hydraulic power source and the master cylinder is loaded with relief and check valves connected to the ports. Such back to back test loads the total cylinder components including the Rod, tube, Gland ,seals ,mounting parts etc and can reveal many parameters which cannot be seen in the conventional end to end load test. Similar set up can be also used for life cycle test extending to millions of full load cycles.

How many compression strokes during a compression test?

3 - 4 per cylinder.

Why Morse test is not suitable for determination of IP in case of single cyliner IC engine?

because in single cylinder if we inoperate one spard plug there no output which we can get but whereras in multi-cylinder even if we close one connection the others will do the work

How is a Morse test on a diesel engine conducted?

same as with a gasoline engine the maximum power and torque are noted, then the plug of each cylinder is removed one at a time and the power drop is noted to determine the contribution of each cylinder at the same rpm over the board

How will you explain Marshall stability test for asphalt premix?

Marshall stability test is a three phase exam designed to determine the strength of an asphalt cylinder. At the first step, a 1kg asphalt premix is made into 10cm diameter cylinder using a hammer compactor. Usually three cylinders are made. The hammer hits the cylinders 50 or 75 times (depending on the type of the road, e.g. highway, parking, etc) on each side, from a set height. Then, the cylinder is weighted in water and air, then kept in 60C water for 30 minutes. At the third step the cylinders are broken to see at under what weight they give out. The number is multiplied by the correlation factor, derived from the data gathered in step 2. This test is used only to check the strength of asphalt cylinder cores, and not to determine other asphalt properties like friction or rejuvenation of thin coatings.

Whatever amount of pressure was used to compress the CO2 originally, can be reached (or nearly reached) when it is released into an air cylinder.

How would you know if the CO2 extinguisher is full?

Normally it is done by weight. The empty cylinder weight is known and the weight with CO2 is taken and the CO2 weight is found.

It depends on the model, but most only need one.

What is the rupture pressure limit for a CO2 fire extinguisher?

CO2 extinguisher have a max test pressure of 20,700 kPa. Max design operating pressure of 18,570 kPa. The min burst pressure of a cylinder must be at least 2.7 times the max operating pressure. So the burst pressure of a CO2 fire extinguisher will be at least 50,139 kPa

What is used to test for CO2?

Lime Water, if CO2 is present, then it should turn milky white :D xxx

Why freshly prepared lime water used in experiments to test evolution of CO2?

Freshly prepared lime water is used in the evperiment to test the presence of CO2 in water because lime water turns milky when CO2 is present in water.

Can a CO2 cylinder be refilled with argon?

You probably could fill it, but not to pressures needed for paintball gun operation, CO2 tanks should not be filled with any gas or liquid besides CO2. edit: you could use Argon in a HPA tank but not a CO2 tank
