Find the wire from the secondary of the transformer. If it's a step-down transformer the thicker wire is the secondary.

Measure its diameter in inches and calculate its cross-section area in square inches. The current rating for transformer wire is 1000 amps per square inch, or 1.55 amps per square mm.

What is mva?

In electrical engineering it can be millivolt amperes, unless it's MVA then it is megavolt amperes. Such as in the use of large transformers.

What is fullform of MVA?

milli volt amperes, unless it's MVA then it is Mega Volt Amperes. Such as in the use of large transformers

How do you calculate the of turn and the secondary voltage of the 15kw transformer?

First of all, transformers are rated in volt amperes, not watts. Secondly, in order to determine a transformer's turns-ration, you need to know its primary and secondary voltage ratings.

What is a kva transformer?

A big one - one that can supply thousands (k) of V.A (not kva, but kV.A).AnswerA volt ampere is used to measure apparent power (the vector sum of true power and reactive power. Transformers are rated in volt amperes, rather than in watts because to rate transformers in watts, it's necessary to know the power factor of the load, and transformer manufacturers have no way of knowing that. A kilovolt ampere (kV.A) is one-thousand volt amperes. Distribution transformers are typically rated in kilovolt amperes. For example, pole-mounted distribution transformers are typically 5 kV.A, 50 kV.A, etc., and are used to reduce high-voltages to residential low voltages.Power transformers, used on transmission systems, are usually rated in megavolt amperes.

How do you calculate current capacity of transformer?

The secondary winding's current rating is the rated apparent power of the transformer (expressed in volt amperes) divided by its voltage rating (expressed in volts). This applies to both step down, and step up, transformers.

How do you calculate volts with volt amperes?

Divide the circuits amperage into the volt amps and you will get the voltage.

How do you calculate the ratings of transformers?

just simple. f'ck up b'tch

How do you Calculate the voltage of a battery if the resistance is 20hms and the current is 0.35 amperes?

Use Ohm's law. V = I * R where V is voltage in volts, I is current in amperes, and R is resistance in ohms.

What are transformers rated?

A transformer's capacity is rated in volt amperes(V.A). This is the product of the secondary winding's current rating and voltage rating.

How do you calculate 1 phase kwh from measuring amps?

You can't. Measure the amperes simply tells you what the current is.

Calculate the current taken by a 100 watts lamp having a working resistance of 200?

0.02 amperes

How do you calculate kva to ampere?

You cannot convert them. KVA is a measure of power, while amperes are a measure of current.
