It you are multiplying by a number greater than one (or, equivalently, dividing by a number less than one) then the decimal would either stay put or move to the right.

Explain how you know that 17 thousandths is more than two places to the right of the decimal point?

I know because 17 thousandths is 3 places after the decimal.

What is 0.061 as a percent?

Whenever converting between decimals and percents, all you will do is move the decimal point over two spaces. To know which direction, think of the order in the alphabet the first letter of the words, decimal and percent, will be. D will be on the left and P will be on the right. If you're converting from a decimal to a percent, that means you are going from D to P. You will be moving right. Therefore, move the decimal two spaces to the right. 0.061 becomes 6.1, so the answer is 6.1%. (If you were converting from percent to decimal, you would be going from P to D, so you would move it two spaces to the left.)

What is the place value for 3 in the number 192955.193007?

the "thousandths place". To determine the place, start at the decimal point, and to the right of the decimal point, the order is "tenths", "hundredths", "thousandths", "ten-thousandths", "hundred-thousandths", "millionths" and so on. In 192955.193007 the 3 is the third place to the right of the decimal so its in the "thousandths place".

How do you know that 17 thousandths has more than two places to the right of thousandths decimal point?

17 being a whole number lies to the left of the point. To turn it into thousandths you have to move it to the right, three places. One is 1.7, 2 is 0.17, 3 is 0.017, The thousandths POSITION is 0.001. So 17 thousandths does not lie more than two places to the right of that. It does lie more than two places to the right of the decimal point. Don't mix up these. There is no such thing as the "thousandths decimal point".

How do you know that 10 times 67.3 is 673 but not 6730?

When multiplying by 10 you shift the decimal point one digit to the right. Therefore 10 x 67.30 becomes 673.0 (or 673). (100 x 67.30 becomes 6730 because you would have shifted the decimal point 2 digits to the right).

How do you know where to put the decimal when multiplying decimals?

If two decimal numbers have x and y digits after the decimal point respectively, then their product has (x + y) digits after the decimal point.

How would you right 329 micrograms in decimals?

If you know how to convert, then you should know the following: g->dg->cg->mg->->->micrograms So you move the decimal point 6 to the right if the given number is grams. Ans. 329,000,000

How do change decimals into percents?

If you would like to change a decimal into a percent, all you have to do is this: Move the decimal point over two places. Ex.: .125 = 12.5% Easy. I know. Another example: .75 = 75.0% or 75% (which is worth the same amount) You move the decimal two places to the right.

If you love each other but you both know you are not right for each other is it really love?

In a way yes butt if you know you are not soul mates no coz there is no point in having a relationship that is not going anywhere. TY. That is how it feels: We are soul-mates, but it is going nowhere, and will never go anywhere, so there is no point. Why does that hurt so much? We both know it's not right, so it should be easy to move on! (but it is anything but!)

How many liters equals 75 ml?

75 milliliters is equal to 0.075 liters. to get this answer simply move the decimal point of 75.0 mL 3 spaces to the left because there are 1000mL in 1 liter. You move the decimal point to the left when converting from small to larger units and to the right when converting from large to smaller units. Always count by the number of zeros in the equivalent and you will know how many decimal spaces to move (i.e. there are 1000g in 1 kg so if you have 5 kg amd want to know how many grams that is then move the decimal 3 places to the right to get 5000 g).

What is 15.072 rounded two decimal places?

Do you know what a decimal place is? You need to know the theory first. The decimal point is represented by a full stop between 5 and 0 in this number. Rounding is the practise of simplifying numbers to their nearest common number (specified in the question, to the nearest 10/100 etc...). In this example the second decimal place is the 7, you need to simplify to this point by rounding its neighbours to the right to their nearest 10... I.E. the 2 rounds to 0. <5 rounds to 0, > or equal to 5 rounds to 10. Your answer is 15.07.
