Converting from rectangular to parametric can be very simple: given y=f(x), the parametric equations x=t, y=f(t) produce the same graph. As an example, given y=x2, the parametric equations x=t, y=t2 produce the familiar parabola. However, other parametrizations can be used.

Let y = 2at & x = at^2

Then using the parabolic equation. y^2 = 4ax

Substitute in

(2at)^2 = 4a(at^2)

4a^2t^2 = 4 a^2 t^2

Done!!!! and it equates!!!!

What is parametric equation for pear shaped quartic?

I looked all over the internet and could not find a parametric equation for this shape. You can look at the link below to find the regular cartesian equation. If you are good at parametric equations you could probably convert this into parametric form. I am not so good at parametric equations.

How can you determine the rate of change or slope if it is not directly given?

The answer depends on what information you are given - and in what form. If the equation of the curve is given in polar coordinates or in parametric form, the process is quite different to that required when given the Cartesian equation.

What video game uses parametric equations?

Parametric equations are a way of expressing the points of a curve as the function of a set parameter. Any game that displays modern scaling graphics using a form of parametric equation.

What is the equation of a line in standard form?

The standard form equation of a line is y=mx+b. M represents the slope; slope is the change in x over the change in y. B represents the y-intercept.

What is standard form linear equation's?

A standard form of a linear equation would be: ax + by = c

The number of normals to the parabola from a point which lies outside?

We can draw 3 normals to a parabola from a given point as the equation of normal in parametric form is a cubic equation.

How can you determine the y- intercept if its not given directly?

The y-intercept (or y-intercepts) of an equation is where x = 0. Replace x with zero in the equation, and solve for y.The answer depends on what information you are given - and in what form. If the equation of the curve is given in polar coordinates or in parametric form, the process is quite different to that required when given the Cartesian equation.

What is the standard form of an equation?

The standard form of an equation is Ax + By = C. In this type of equation, x and y are variables while A, B, and C are integers.
