That doesn't factor neatly. Applying the quadratic formula, we find two imaginary solutions: (-1 plus or minus one third itimes the square root of 7) divided by 4.

x = -0.25 + 0.22047927592204922i

x = -0.25 - 0.22047927592204922i

where i is the square root of negative one.

x2 - 9x - 18 doesn't factor neatly like x2 - 9x + 18 does. Applying the quadratic equation, we find two real solutions: (9 plus or minus 3 times the square root of 17) divided by 2.

x = 10.68465843842649

x = -1.68465843842649

For simplification, factor out 2 from each term:

X2 - 6X = 9

X2 - 6X - 9= 0

If you want to solve for X:

(X-3)(X-3) = 0

X = 3

What is the work for 4 parenthasis 3x plus 2 parenthasis minus18 equals 14?

4(3x + 2)-18=14...if this is your problem, the answer is as followsmultiply 4 by everything in parenthesis:12x+8-18=14combine like terms by subtracting 18 from 8:12x-10=14isolate the variable (12x) by adding 10 to each sides:12x=10+1412x=24Divide both sides by 12 to get x by itself:12x/12x=24/12X=2

What is the value of y 12x 5y equals 30 y equals 2x 6?

write it as 2 separate equations: 12x-5y=30 2x-6=30 Now the easiest thing to do is solve the second equation: 2x=36 x=36/2 x=18 Now just plug x=18 into the first equation: 12*18-5y=30 216-5y=30 -5y=-186 y=37.2

What is the answer to 10x plus 6 equals 12x-18?

10x + 6 = 12x - 18 Subtract 10x from both sides: 6 = 2x - 18 Add 18 to both sides: 24 = 2x Divide both sides by 2: 12 = x Therefore, x = 12

What are the factors of 12x 18?

How do you solve 12x equals 18 mod 48?

Copied from my answer to your other question: I have changed your equation from 12x=48 mod 18 to 12x=18 mod 48 as it is impossible to have 48 mod 18 in modular arithmetic/it makes no sense. Anyway, any modular equation a=b mod m can be rewritten as a-b=km where k is an integer. or in other words, m divides a-b without remainder. Applying this to the equation above we get (12x-18)/48=k. Now just stick it into a calculator and replace x with integers or since 12 is even, a number with + 0.5 until the equation gives out an integer, in this case x turns out to be 1.5, then 5.5, 9.5 etc.
