(q - s)/(p - r).


If the linear equation is given:

For a linear function, the rate of change is the same everywhere, so - assuming the function involves variables "x" and "y" - you can simply divide (change of y) divided by (change of x), for any two points on the graph (or for any two sets of (x, y) values for the function).
