What is the difference between a best fit graph and a line graph?

a line graph will join all of the points yet a best fit graph will only join the dots which follow the pattern.

How can you connect 25 dots with 8 lines?

It depends on where the dots are located. If they are all collinear only one straight line is required. For a 5x5 grid, only 5 lines are required.

How do you connect 9 dots with only 4 lines without lifting your pencil?

Arrange the 9 dots in a 3x3 grid.Start with the bottom left dot, then draw the first line up through the three dots in that column.Extend it past the top left dot, then draw the second line diagonally through the top middle dot and the right dot in the middle row.Again extend the line a little past the dot, then draw the third line through the bottom row of dots. Finally, draw the fourth line diagonally from the bottom left corner to the upper right corner.

Use 9 dots with 4 strait lines?

This is a well known puzzle. The challenge is to draw through a 3x3 grid of 9 dots using only 4 connected straight lines. If we label the dots from top left to bottom right 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 then the explanation will be easier. The first line must go diagonally down and right from 1 to 9 then top on 9. The second line goes straight left from 9 to 7, and then continues on the rough length of another (imaginary) dot. The third line goes diagonally up and right through 4 and 2, and then continues the length of another imaginary dot. The final line goes straight down through 3 and 5.

Why the line x equals 4 is a vertical line?

The equation of the line x = 4 has no term for y in the equation. Therefore any value of y can be used and the x coordinate is still equal 4. So a straight vertical line, crossing the x axis at (4,0) is the only line which satisfies these conditions. You can plot some points: (4,0); (4,100); (4,-5265), etc. and then connect the dots to see that it is a straight vertical line.

What is discrete and continuous in math?

These terms describe functions.A continuous function looks like a straight line or a curve, depending on if it is linear or quadratic.A discrete function looks like dots on a number line, only covering the integers, instead of numbers in between.

How do you make 10 dots on 5 lines with only 4 dots?

a star drawn with five lines will give you 10 dots on 5 lines with only 4 dots on each line. (or) simply draw a pentagon and put a cap ( a inverted 'V') on all sides.
