The simplest way is to rewrite the mixed number as an improper (top-heavy) fraction and then multiply the two fractions together as normal.

For example, 2/7 * 1 1/4 = 2/7*5/4 = 10/28 = 5/14

The easiest way is to convert the mixed number to an improper fraction, do the multiplication and simplify the result, converting any improper fraction back to a mixed number.
