A binomial has two terms, while a trinomial has 3 terms. So both terms of the binomial will multiply each term of the trinomial (distribution property). After the multiplication you'll have 6 terms. Look for like terms, if there are, combine them.

The foil method in algebra is used to "multiply linear binomials."The FOIL method is used in elementary algebra as a guide for solving algebraic problems.

How do you factor binomials or trinomials?

This can't be explained in a few words. Basically you check the different special cases, mentioned in a school algebra course: whether there is a common factor, whether a binomial is a difference of squares, etc. Check a high school algebra book for more details.

Binomials and trinomials are two types of polynomials. The first has two terms and the second has three.

What is an acronym used to remember the steps needed to multiply two binomials?

You don't need any acronym; just multiply every monomial on the left with every monomial on the right. The same goes for multiplying a binomial with a trinomial, two trinomials, or in fact for multiplying any polynomial by any other polynomial.
