Rounding to the nearest ten means taking the last digit and looking at it.

If the last digit is from 0 to 4, you replace it with a 0.

If the last digit is from 5 to 9, you replace it with a 0 and add one to the digit before last.

For this example: 683 becomes 680 since the 3 is between 0 and 4.

If it were 687 for example it would have become 690, since the 7 is between 5 and 9.
