Best Answer

take the fraction turn it into a decimal and move the decimal to the right twice

if it is a continuous number the percent will have only that number

_

ex.3/10 = .33 = 33.3%

* * * * *

Not sure what the second sentence is trying to sat. For example,

1/6 = 0.166... is 16.66 ... %. So what is the "only that number"?
put the fraction into decimal form. then multiply by 100 to get percent.

You put the percent over 100 and simplify.

Example:

60%

You have to make a fraction and have the 60 as a numerator (top half, or right side) and 100 as a denominator (bottom half, or left side). Once you get 60/100, you have to simplifly. This is my answer:

60%= 60/100=30/50=15/25=3/5

There are shortcuts into simplifying like this:

60%=60/100=6/10=3/5

Even if you use a shortcut, you still get the same answer as a longer example. Shortcuts are the easiest ways to figure out a percentage problem fast, so make sure you know how to do it!
A percent is nothing but a fraction with a denominator of 100. Percent means "per" "cent" - per hundred. So, 5% means 5 for every hundred. 5% would be 5/100, which when reduced to the least form is 1/20.

Divide the numerator by the denominator.

For example,

1/2: 1 divided by 2 is 50%

In algebra form:

x/y: x divided by y= percent

the "/" symbol actually means "divided by" so when you say 1/2, your actually saying 1 divided by 2

Express the fraction with a denominator of 100.

>

Example: 5/8 as a percentage.

>

5/8 = ?/100

>

? = 5/8 * 100

>

? = 500/8

>

? = 62.5

>

so, 5/8 = 62.5/100 = 62.5%

Remove the percent sign and set up the number over 100 and then simplify: 25% = 25/100 = 1/4.

Just realize the / in the fraction is actually a division sign, and when you divide those two numbers, you get a fraction.
