Density is an intensive property meaning amount doesn't matter. Even if you have two gallons, one milliliter still weighs one gram.

What is the density of 10 gallons of a liquid?

Depends on the liquid. Also depends (at least a little) on the temperature and pressure of the liquid, although much less so than a gas. For example, at typical room temperature and pressure, mercury has a density of approximately 13,534 kg/cubic meter. Water at the same temperature and pressure has a density of approximately 998 kg/cubic meter. Also, the density doesn't depend on how much of a liquid you have. Density is mass over volume; that is, it's expressed in unit volume, so the density of 10 gallons of a particular liquid is the same as the density of 1 gallon or 100 gallons.

If a gallon of water weighs about 8 pounds how many gallons of water will this be for a 150 lb adult?

150 lb divided by 8 lb = 18.75 gallons of water weighs the same as a 150 lb man.

How many gallons of water is in a liter?

U.S. gallons are different from imperial gallons. 1 Imperial gallon is equal to 4.54609188 litres and 1 US gallon is equal to 3.78541178 litres. Liters on the other hand are the same everywhere. One liter equals 0.26 U.S. gallon or 0.219 Imperial gallon.

How many propane gallons in water gallon?

According to the Wikipedia entry for propane, liquid propane has thermal energy 91,600 BTU per gallon. So 1 therm which is 100,000 BTU will correspond to 100,000/91,600 gallons, result = 1.092 gallons.

How many pounds are in 1.09 gallons?

Pounds are a unit measurement of weight. (How heavy is this?) Gallons are a unit measurement of volume. (How much will this hold?) There is no direct conversion from one to the other. For example, 1.09 gallons of feathers is going to be much, much lighter than, say, 1.09 gallons of lead. If your 1.09 gallons is full of water, then we can get somewhere. We know that one gallon of water at room temperature weighs about 8-1/3 pounds, or to make the next part easier, let's call it 8.333 pounds. But we don't have 1 gallon, we have 1.09 gallons. The weight must be 1.09gal times 8.333 pounds/gallon = 9.083 pounds, which is your answer ONLY for one gallon of water.

How many kg in a gallons?

gallons is volume, kilo is weight. the answer will vary with the density of the substance. One gallon of flour won't be the same as one gallon of water.

Will 500 gallons of saltwater have the same density as one gallon of freshwater?

No

100 gallon equals how many pounds?

200 Gallons of what? Gallon is an unit of volume, so to get the weight you need to know the density of the substance. 200 gallons of sawdust wouldn't weigh the same as 200 gal of water.

A gallon of milk is the same as 3.78 L of milk how many liters?

it varies with density of the fluid. Example Density of water is 1 so Volume=Mass/Density their fore 1 liter of pure water is 1Kg Density of diesel oil is .85 their fore 1 kg of D.O is 1/0.85=1.176liters

How many gallons in 34 cubic feet?

12 cups 1 gallon = 16 cups 1 cup = 0.06 gallon

What is the weight difference between a gallon of frozen water and a gallon water?

If there was a gallon of water before it was frozen then it weighs the same. Fresh water has a density of 1Kg/liter Water ice has a density of 0.9167Kg/l A gallon is a volume measurement, so a gallon of ice weighs less than a gallon of water. The short answer is about 380 grammes or 13.5 Oz.

How can a gallon of milk can have different density than a gallon of water even though it has the same volume?

Though they have same volume, they have different masses.

How many pounds of water are in 500 gallons of water?

That converts to 4000 pounds which is the same as 2 tons. Pounds is a unit of mass/weight. Gallons is a liquid measure. They do not convert cleanly. The density of the liquid being measured can make a big difference. If the liquid is water, there is 8 pounds to a gallon.

If I pay 20 for 1 gallon of shampoo that dilutes 32-1 what am I paying per gallon Same question for a shampoo that dilutes 50 to 1 and costs 49.40 per gallon?

If you pay 20 for 1 gallon, then you are paying 20 for one gallon. Similarly if you are paying 49.40 for 1 gallon, then you are paying 49.40 for one gallon. --------------------------------------------------- If, however, you meant how much you are paying for 1 gallon WHEN IT HAS BEEN DILUTED, then: When diluting 32:1, you will add 32 gallons of water to make 33 gallons in total. You will then be paying: (40 + cost of 32 gallons of water) ÷ 33 ≈ 1.21 + the cost of 32/33 gallon of water. When diluting 50 to 1 you will add 50 gallons of water to make 51 gallons in total. You will then be paying: (49.40 + cost of 50 gallons of water) ÷ 51 ≈ 0.96 + the cost of 50/51 gallon of water.

17.5 tons of milk equals how many gallons?

A gallon of milk weighs roughly the same as a gallon of water ( they have about the same density of 1.0) which is 8 1/3 pounds. So, 17.5 tons of milk would be almost 4,202 gallons or 4,201.68067 gallons if you want to be exact. If nothing else, you'll get 'tons' of vitamin D out of it... sorry, that was a pretty bad joke :) Let me know if you have any more questions about this.

If you have a three gallon jug and a five gallon jug No marks on either one The goal is to fill the five gallon jug with four gallons of water How is this accomplishedb?

fill the 5 gallon jug with water then pour the water into the 3 gallon jug until its full then u will have 2 gallons in the 5 gallon jug. then if the jugs both have the same circumference u can just make the water in both jugs level then u will have 2 gallons of water in each jug. pour the water from the 3 gallon jug into the 5 gallon jug. and u should know that 2+2=4 :)
