Its probably a blown head gasket. Ford rangers are natorious for blowing head gaskets. Check to see if there is oil in your water if you even have any water left. But if there is a blown head gasket in that spot it would allow water to get into the cylinder and of course make it not run correctly because as we all know WATER DOESN'T BURN. And if your trcuk blows water or alot of steam out the exaust that would be a result of a blown head gasket. If that isn't the case than it could be some stupid problem like the spark plug isn't tightened all the way or the valves cover is leaking because it's not tighted all the way either.
