Hi! That was a pretty neat question.

A dime weighs 2.268 grams. You can find out more about dimes and other U.S. coins on the U.S. mint site at

http://www.usmint.gov/about_the_mint/?action=coin_specifications

Since the Mint makes these coins, we can trust this source. How did I find this answer? Well, since I knew coins were made by the Mint, I just used Google to get to their web site:

http://www.usmint.gov

I chose the Coins and Medals link on the left, then the Coin Specifications link.

Since you're trying to work out a math problem, you might want to convert the weight in grams to English units. There's a neat search engine that can actually perform some math. It's called WolframAlpha:

http://www.wolframalpha.com/

The site was designed by a man who wrote a famous math software program called Mathematica, so we can trust it. What's neat is that you can type into the box "convert 2.268 grams to ounces" and it will check the math for you!(It's 0.08 ounces.)

I hope this information helped you.
