For finding volume you can use water displacement. Get a amount of water (make sure you know what number and how much) and drop your item in the water. The water should have risen. The difference of the Displaced water and the starting water should get you your volume.

e.g. 16 mL of water, you drop a marble, the water is now 18 mL. So the volume of the marble is 2 mL.

What state of matter CAN be measured in quarts or liters?

The liquid state is measured with these units of volume. However, so can solids and gases.

Who do you measure volume?

Volume can be measured in different ways depending on what king of substance do you want to measure. Also, depending on the application. Volume is equivalent to: Length x Width x Height. Liquids, on the contrary, are measured using a graduated cylinder. Solids can be measured by calculating the difference between the volumes. The volum e of the liquid, and the volume of the liquid with the solid in it. The difference of the two values is the volume of the solid. This is because, solids are measured by the amount of liquid volume that is displace. Hope it helps.

What are two differences between a liquid and a solid?

Liquids can fill the shape of an object, and Solids have a defiant shape. Easy one: Liquids are measured in volume's, and Solids are measured in Grams. THE MORE YOU KNOW.

How are liquid mass and liquid volume alike?

Liquids, like solids have a definite volume. While liquids don't have a definite shape, they can take the shape of a container which can be measured the same way as with solids.

Is capacity measured in cubic centimeter?

none... its measured in bytes * * * * * It depends on the context. Capacity, in the sense of data storage, is measured in bytes. IN other contexts, it may be measured in cubic centimetres, or litres or other related units.

How can volume be use to separate solids and gases?

Solids have a definite volume and gases have a variable volume

How are shape and volume used to classify solids liquids and gases.?

A solid has a definite shape and volume that can be directly measured. A liquid does not have a definite shape, but it does have a measurable volume. A gas has neither a definite volume or shape and will completely fill the container it is in.

Do solids have no fixed volume or shape?
