Paper is weighed in GSM (grams per square meter)
GSM is a gram per square meter . tempate of 20x25cm paper size cut it and weight it in weightometer
The gram is a measurement of weight, and the square meter is a measurement of area.Formula:Basis Weight (in pounds) x 1406.5Basis Size (in inches)= GRAMS PER SQUARE METERTo find the Basis Size, refer to the chart in the related link.Example:Convert 25" x 38", 60 lb. Offset Paper to grams per square meter.60 x 1406.525 x 38= 88.8 Grams per square meter
cut a representative samle of paper 1 meter by 1 meter and weight it.
Feet is a measure of distance. Square meters is a measure of area. You cannot equate them. It's sort of like saying how many sheets of paper make a quart.
GSM stands for Grammes per Square Metre - and is how the quality of paper is measured. Normal office paper is either 60 or 80 grammes - good quality paper would be 100 to 120 grammes. Actually, it is how the THICKNESS of paper is measured, in a roundabout way. The more paper weighs, the thicker it is.
Paper is weighed in terms of how heavy a square metre is. Most standard office paper (used for everyday use) weighs 80 grammes per square metre. Good quality paper would probably weigh 100 grammes or more. This means that two differently sized sheets of paper - say A4 and A3 - can be compared easily.
That would depend on what material you have a square meter of paper is going to be lighter than a square meter of rocks. Square meters don't just convert to tons you have to have a square meter of something
Paper is weighed in GSM (grams per square meter)
It depends on the thickness of each sheet. Paper weight is measured in grammes per square metre (GSM) The higher the gsm the heavier the sheet is.
around 0.32 grammes
A sheet of A4 paper is almost exactly 1/16 of a square meter. So the mass of this sheet of paper is (70 g/m²)*(1/16 m²) = 4.375 grams.
70gsm paper refers to paper that weighs 70 grams per square meter. It is commonly used for printing and copying documents, flyers, and other lightweight paper needs. The lower the gsm value, the lighter and thinner the paper.
A4 paper 210mm by 297mm in size, which equals 62370 square millimeters. 150 GSM is 150 grams per square meter. 1 meter is 1000 millimeters, so 1 square meter is 1000x1000=1000000 square millimeters. You can fit 1000000/62370 A4 pages into 1sq meter, which is 16.0333493666827 pages. 150grams divided by 16.0333493666827 is 9.3555. So - a 150GSM page of A4 paper weighs 9.3555 grams.
16 sheets.
Weigh it in grams and divide by its area measured in square metres.
GSM in this context stands for Grams per Square Meter for paper or cardboard. It roughly corresponds to microns (millionths of a meter or thousandths of a millimeter) in thickness.
