It depends. An average person might run it in anywhere from 30-45 minutes (10-15 min per mile). Someone who is athletic but not really a runner might do it in 27-36 minutes (9-12 min per mile). A cross country runner could run it as fast as 15-16 minutes, but most likely in 18-24 (someone new to cross country might do like 25-32). Personally, assuming you're just an average person, I think if you can run 3 miles in 33-36 minutes that's decent.

One mile is approximately 1.6 kilometres, so 400 metres in 3 minutes would be a mile in 12 minutes.

Depends very much on your speed. The slower you go then the slower you run 3/10th of a mile. It is all about the speed and it is hard to give an exact average value that one takes to run that distance.
3 hoursIf you had the time to watch you would already know.

16.67 minutes per mile.
It takes 21 minutes to swim a mile It takes 7 hours to bike 25 miles It takes 3 hors to run 6.2 miles
If you run 6 miles in 20 minutes, then you run 1/6th the mileage (1 mile) in 1/6th the time (1/6 x 20/1) 20/6 = 3 2/6 minutes = 3 1/3 minutes = 3 minutes 20 seconds 1 mile = 3 minutes 20 seconds
A 28 year old female should be able to run a mile in about 7 minutes. Therefore, a three mile run should take about 21 minutes.
