which has more resistance 100 watt bulb or 60 watt bulb?

In short, the 60 watt bulb has more resistance.

Power can be calculated using the following formula: P = (V^2)/R The power rating for a light bulb is measured using a 120 Volt source. Since the voltage will be the same for both light bulbs, using the formula, the bulb with the lowest resistance would have the greatest power.

Let's assume that the supplied voltage to both bulbs are the same and you're using it in North America where the voltage is 120V.

Power = V^2/R

Resistance = Voltage^2 / Power

R = 120^2 / 100W = 144 ohms

R = 120^2 / 75W = 192 ohms

Yes, the lower wattage bulb has more resistance.

Through the formula I=V/R, you can see that when resistance increases, current decreases, when voltages supplied to both bulbs are the same. Now because the voltages supplied to both bulbs are the same, we can use the current to determine the brightness. (Normally we would use power. The higher the wattage, the brighter the bulb.) Because voltage is constant, power in the formula P=IV increases proportionally with current. Thus the higher the current, the brighter the bulb.

"75 watt" is a typical rating for a filament type incandescent light bulb. Ratings should be specified by each manufacturer on the box. Depending on the actual voltage applied, number of on off cycles, and ambient air temperatures these will change. Higher voltage burns the filament hotter and decreasing its lifespan. Lower voltage will increase the life of the filament (but also make it burn dimmer). Dimming circuits will help increase the life. I typically see incandescent light bulbs rated less than 1500 hours although Kayline advertises up to 10,000 hours. The bulbs are actually rated for 135 Volts and used in a 120 volt household circuit.

To determine the number of amps, figure the voltage across the bulb and divide the number of Watts (75) by the number of Volts (120) and you should have an answer of 625 milliAmps of 5/8 Amp. If voltage is different, so will the current be, but the formula is the same.

The difference between the power of a 100 watt bulb and a 75 watt bulb is 25 watts. A 100 watt bulb will burn about 25 percent brighter than a 75 watt bulb.

A 75 watt light bulb has more resistance because less current is going through which causes less light.

p = v * i

75w = 120v * i

i = 75w / 120v

i = .625A

v = i * R

120V = .625A * R

R = 120V / .625A

R = 192 ohm

Assuming they both run at the same voltage, the one with less resistance will draw more current and more power.

Difference between 40 watt and 60 watt bulb base?

NO Incandescents produce 10 lumens per watt, halogens about 13 lumens per watt, fluorescents and LEDs 40-50 lumens per watt. Lumens measure the brightness, watts measure the speed at which electrical energy is used.

How many watts per hour does 75 watt bulb use?

The bulb's power, 75 watts, is the power it uses continuously all the time it is switched on. The energy it uses can be measured in watt-seconds (Joules) or in watt-hours. A 75 watt bulb uses 75 watt-hours each hour, which is 0.075 kilowatt-hour.
