1 cubic foot =7.48 gallons. Your description is a little vague, though... assuming that it's 20 feet long and the shallow is is 10 feet long... 10 ft x 20 ft x 3 ft= 720 cubic feet which is 720 cu ft x 7.48 ga= 5386 gallons. That would leave the remaining amount of water at 35-12=23 So: 23 ft x 20 ft x 10 ft = 4600 x 7.48= 34408 Total water= 39794 gallons. However, that's assuming that it's a 90 degree drop from the 3 foot section to the 10 foot section. The slope will affect the amount of water in the pool. This should give you a rought estimate, though.

How many gallons are in a pool that is 15x36?

Cannot be answered with only these measurements. For a rectangular pool, the length, width and depth are needed. For a round pool, the diameter and depth are needed.

Is deep water more or less dense than shallow water?

Shallow water is more dense than Deep water. This means that a wave travelling from deep water to shallow water would bend towards the normal. Also, the wave would travel slower in the shallow than in the deep water
