In the UK a gallon of water weighs 10 lbs
I am guessing it will be 8 lbs in the US as there is a different definition of the pint and therefore the gallon
That depends on the item being measured. Pounds is a measure of weight/mass and a gallon is a liquid measure. For water it would be about 8 pounds. Mercury would be a lot more!
8lbs 6 oz
8 lb
150 lb divided by 8 lb = 18.75 gallons of water weighs the same as a 150 lb man.
Weight of 1 US Gallon of water = approx. 8.35 lb x 55 gallons = 459.25 lb
one gallon of 85w140 equals 7.53 lb/gallon 120/7.53=15.936 gallons
270 gallons = 2253.25 lbs 8.345404 lb/1 gallon
8 lb
I have a recipe that makes one gallon and calls for 3 lb. So, you will want 15 lb. for a five gallon recipe.
8.34540 lb OR 8 lb and 5.52 oz
1 gallon of eggs is equivalent to approx. 8.35 lb.
1/8.33 gallons or ~0.12 gallon(US) or 1/10 gallon or 0.1 gallon (BI)
150 lb divided by 8 lb = 18.75 gallons of water weighs the same as a 150 lb man.
That is approximately 7.3 pounds
It depends upon the substance of the18 lb. Weight and volume are linked by density: density = weight/volume → volume = weight / density. 18 lb of mercury occupies a much smaller volume than 18 lb of hydrogen.
Weight of 1 US Gallon of water = approx. 8.35 lb x 55 gallons = 459.25 lb

Aviation gasoline (Avgas) weighs 6 lb. per gallon. Jet fuel (kerosene) weighs 6.84 lb. per gallon.
