Short answer: maybe 200,000 miles, give or take.

Long answer: Durability will depend on things besides maintenance, such as how often the car is driven and how aggressively it is driven, and where it is driven. 100,000 miles in a year is much harder on a car than 100,000 miles in eight years. Cars that have to deal with cold winters and road salt will last less than vehicles that don't. It also depends on what you mean by "take"; almost anything can be fixed, if you are willing to spend the money.

99-00 Golf/Jettas have a 12-year rust warranty, so the body is good for quite a while. The most common engine on them is the 2 liter four cylinder, which like most current gas engines can certainly run for 200,000 miles if treated well.
