The decimal system b ased on 10 digits, binary, based on 2 digits, hexadecimal = 16.

But there is really no limit. Math can study base 3,4, 5, 6, 7 any base that you want to make up is possible. The biggest problem would be individual symbols for larger bases.

I studied base 7 in the 6th grade. It was interesting to me, but any real applications?
