If they stand shoulder-to-shoulder, we need to know their width to answer that.

If they stand nose-to-ahem-tail, then 20 of them fit on the stick.

These answers assume, purely for the sake of discussion, that termites have

shoulders, noses, and ahem tails.

This varies by species, with the very largest termites reaching about 10 centimeters in length (4 in).

The more typical Formosan termites range from about 0.3 to 0.6 cm in length (1/8 to 1/4 in) with some queens reaching 1 to 1.5 cm (0.4 to 0.6 inches) in length, not including their wings.

well first you have to convert them both to the same metric value. I'd choose millimeters just because it's smaller.

KHDRDCM

Kilo- 1000x

Hecto- 100x

Deka 10x

Route x

Deci 1/10x

Centi 1/100x

Milli 1/1000x

since we have centimeters we must convert it to millimeters to find the answer.

1 centimeter is 10 millimeters so if each termite is 5 millimeters and we are working with only 10. 10/5= 2 termites that will fit.

However; the space termites would need would have to be 2-dimensional but the question is still solvable

By definition 1 millimeter is equal to 1000 meters. Therefore, 200 termites could fit in 1 meter.

How many termites would fit on a 3 meter stick?

I will base my answer on the dampwood termite, the largest termite in the USA, and which is found in the rainy forests of the Pacific Coast and in Southern Florida. The workers and soldiers of this species can grow to 5/8" (1.5875cm) in length when fully grown. Therefore you could fit 189 termites (189.98 to be pedantic) end to end on a 3 metre-long stick
