Any positive length you like.

Let L be any positive number and suppose the area is of length L.

then let W = 10000/L metres.

Then area = L*W = L*10000/L = 10000 sq metres = 1 hectare.

On a slightly pedantic note, you could argue that the length should be the

larger dimension. In that case L >= 100 metres.

The above argument applies to a rectangular area but can be adapted to other

shapes as well - except that the mathematics gets more complicated.

A "hectare" is an area, used mostly in the measure of land. It's defined as

10,000 square meters, which makes it the same as roughly 2.47 acres.

Knowing the area doesn't tell you the dimensions. There are an infinite number

of different shapes it could have, all with different dimensions.
