How much aspirin can you give a large breed dog?

DO NOT GIVE YOUR DOG REGULAR ASPIRIN. Your dog can have BABY ASPIRIN, not adult aspirin, not Tylenol, not Advil, not Aleve or any generic form of these. I give my 10 lb dogs 1/2 a baby aspirin when needed (which has been prescribed by my vet initially). That is not to say that for every 10 lbs you should give a 1/2 a tab, you need to call your vet and ask dosage, there is not charge for that type of call with my vet so it really shouldn't be a problem for you. Please don't self medicate your dog. If there is something wrong with the dog then go to the vets. If the vet prescribes a certain medication for your dog that you can get at a drug store, then don't buy it at the vets. Go into the drug store and ask the pharmacist how much you would give for a 22 lb. dog. Many people do this because the drug store is cheaper for meds than the vets (in most cases) and pharmacist will treat your dog like a 22 lb. child. Absolutely! if you think there is something wrong with your dog take him/her to the vets.
