I just bid a 2800sq' house for $3300 after taking 10% off for being friends of of a friend and bidding it at 2500 sq' the formula I use for an exterior repaint is $1.25 per square ft of house as a general rule plus other determining factors such as terrain,ease of access,how much prep(sanding,scraping,priming,caulking)thereare allot of factors that go into a bid. I also base part of my bid on the area and my future customers financial situation. If my customer is an elderly widow that lives off social security and just wants something pretty to come home to I'm going to be working for cookies and milk. If you live in an area where there is access to illegal cheap work from people that do not pay Business Taxes than you will get what you pay for. A cheap job that will not last and a lawsuit when they get hurt on your property. The amount that I gave you of $3300 is just a number without actually seeing your house. Your best bet is to get e few good bids and go with the guy in the middle with the most knowledge and hungry he has the least overhead and will be eager to please.
