In my case, I am taking an unsharped Apsara Platinum Extra Dark Pencil. The length is coming out to be 17.7 cm. Diameter is 0.6 cm. (I am assuming the pencil to be a cylinder).
Now applying the formula for volume of a cylinder (pencil)
= pi x r^2 x h
where pi = 3.14
r = d/2 = 0.3 cm
h = length = 17.7 cm.
Volume = 5.00202 ~= 5 cm^2
Hence the volume is 5 cm^2 which is equal to 5 ml or 5 cc.
Unless you have an extremely small house or an extremely large pencil a house has a greater volume than a pencil.
For finding accurate volume of a pencil use a vernier calliper, which measures diameter up to two significant figures. For finding volume of a pencil you will need radius (r) and length (L) of the pencil. V = 3.14 r²L
