Sorry, wrong question - a linear foot is a measure of length - a square foot is a measure of area. How many inches fit into a gallon? How many quarts is it from here to the moon? Get the idea?

Linear feet is just the distance from one wall to the opposite wall. To get square footage ft2 measure the distance from one wall to the opposite wall, do this again for the other 2 walls, now multiply these numbers. Linear feet are feet in a line. (Hence the name.) It's straight line distance and is usually found by simply measuring rather than calculating. The area of the room could be calculated. If the room is rectangular, measuring the length of two adjacent sides would allow one to calculate the area, the number of square feet, in that room. Multiplying the length and the width will give the area for the room.

One square foot is a square (obviously), and since linear objects exist in the second dimension, it has no depth and is infinitely thin, so infinity.

On the other hand, a square foot is calculated by 1x1, that's why 1 square foot is sometimes called one foot squared, because 1x1 is one squared; so 1x1 square feet

How do you covert 100 feet into linear feet?

100 Feet IS 100 Linear Feet. If you wanted to know how many linear feet would give you 100 square feet, you would take the square root of 100, which is 10... SO a 10 x 10 linear foot area would be 100 square feet, and a 100 x 100 Linear foot area would be 10,000 square feet.
