You don't for that problem. Simply multiply for that. Distributive property is useful when there are variables in the equation. For example, 4(x + 3) would simplify to 4x + 12, since both of the numbers in the parentheses are being multiplied by 3. Parentheses are just another way of saying the multiplying sign. So 4(5) is equal to 4 * 5.
