Could be anything almost.

[edit] Not really, given that both lengths are 37, the other side's length (L) can be within the range:

0 > L < 74

If you know the angle between both sides you can use the ''cosine rule'' to calculate the length of the other side.

Is it possible to build a triangle with side lengths of 7 6 and 9?

Yes It is. Try it. All the sides of a triangle don't have to of equal length. -Cody Dunn Also, as long as the sum of any two sides exceeds the length of the third side, the three sides can build a triangle. This is false!

What is the length of the sides of an isosceles triangle?

The length of the sides of an isosceles triangle are not set in stone. An isosceles triangle is defined as a triangle with at least two congruent sides. Equilateral triangles; that is, triangles in which all sides are of equal length are also considered to be isosceles triangles. Therefore, as long as at least two sides of the triangle are congruent, (Of equal length) said triangle is an isosceles triangle.

Is there a name for the two long sides of an isosceles triangle?

The two equal length sides of an isosceles triangle are the legs.

If two sides of a triangle are 3 inches long and the other side is 5 inches long what kind of triangle is it?

An isosceles triangle has two sides of equal length.

What is the lenghth of an isosceles triangle?

Any length you can think of, as long as two of its sides are the same length.

If two perpendicular sides of a triangle are 5.21M and 7.23M long what is the length of the other side?

A triangle cannot have two perpendicular sides. If two sides of a triangle are 5.21m and 7.23m, all you can say about the third side is that it will be greater than 7.23-5.21 = 2.02m and less than 5.21+7.23 = 12.44m.

How big is a scalene triangle?

A scalene triangle is defined as a triangle in which each of the 3 sides has a different length; this does not specify any specific size. They can be as small or as large as you like, as long as the 3 sides are all of different length.

How long are each sides of an equilateral triangle if the perimeter is 60?

20. There are 3 sides to any triangle. For an equilateral triangle all 3 sides are the same length. Therefore for this triangle we can say that, where x equals the length of a side: 3x = 60 x = 60/3 x = 20

How long can the sides of a triangle be?

Individual sides can be of any (positive) length. Also, each of the sides has to be smaller than the sum of the other two sides.

How long are the sides of a triangle?

As long or as short as you like. The only requirement is that the sum of any two sides must be greater than the third.

What is the length of the hypotenuse of a right triangle where the two sides are 8 units and 15 units long?

17 units in length

Explain Why the height of a triangle depends on which side you select for the base?

The height of a triangle is the length of the perpendicular dropped to the base (extended if necessary) from the opposite vertex. This depends on which side is the base, unless the triangle is equilateral. For example, if you have a tall skinny isosceles triangle whose equal sides are a mile long and the third side is an inch long, the height is about a mile if you choose the third side as the base. If you choose either of the other two sides as base, the height will be about an inch.
