Best Answer

No. A rhombus, in general, has a pair of acute angles opposite one another, and a pair of obtuse angles. It is only as a special case that all four angles are right angles and so the rhombus becomes a square.

So every rhombus is NOT a square but every square is a special type of rhombus.

ALWAYS

every square is a rhombus, but every rhombus is not a square.

A square must have right angles and a rhombus does not have to have those.

A rhombus is a quadrilateral with equal length sides, and can have oblique angles or right angles. A square only has right angles. A rhombus with right angles is a square. Other rhombi are not squares.

By these definitions, all squares are rhombi, but not all rhombi are squares

Is every square also a rhombus?

Yes, every square is a rhombus because they are all equilateral quadrilaterals.Every square is a rhombus, but not all rhombuses are squares.

Can a rhombus be a square?

A square is always a rhombus, but a rhombus is notalways a square.

Can a square be a ruombus explain?

A rhombus is a four-sided shape where all sides have equal length. Also opposite sides are parallel and opposite angles are equal. I think those criteria will work for a square too. BUT a square has right angles, so a rhombus may not be a square. So here is the story, simplified for you. Since every rhombus has 4 sides all of equal length, and the opposition angle are equal and oppositie sides are parallel, every square is a rhombus. But there is nothing that says a rhombus needs to have right angles. A square needs right angles so a rhombus may not be a square.

Every Rectangle is a rhombus?

A rectangle can sometimes be a rhombus, as a square is both a rectangle and a rhombus. However, if all sides are congruent, and it has right angles, it is a square and therefore not a rectangle. So, the answer is no, although it may be argued to be yes. Wikipedia, in fact, mentions that a square is both a rectangle and a rhombus; the definition of rectangle there is a quadrilateral with four right angles, thereby not excluding the special case of a rectangular rhombus, or a square. A rhombus is not normally a square but it could be.
