What is the coefficient of 7y?

The coefficient of 7y is 7 because 7 is the number found before the variable, y. This suggests that the given number is 7*y. In any number ax, where a is a real number and x is a variable, a would be the coefficient and the product of that number would be a*x.

Difference between a constant and a coefficient?

Ya mum Constant are numbers which has no units (EG: PYE which is 22/7) . They are just numbers. Where as coefficients have units. . where as Coefficient like alpha the thermal coefficient has units .It is so many mm/meter/ deg C

What number completes the square of x2 plus 14x equals -7?

Since the first coefficient is already equal to 1, just take half the second coefficient (half of 14), then square the result. This must be the constant term on the left side.

Meaning of numerical coefficient?

A numerical coefficient refers to a symbol or a number that is multiplied with a variable or an unknown quantity in an algebraic term. For example, 48 is the coefficient in the term 48x.

What is the coefficient and variable of 7x?

The coefficient is 7 and the variable is x

What is the coefficient and variable part of 7x?

The coefficient is 7 and the variable is x.

Is 7 an unlucky number?

7 is considered by most to be a lucky number.

What do you call a number in front of a variable?

Like the 7 in the expression 7x? If so that is called the coefficient.

What is the 7 called in 7x?

The "7" is the coefficient

What is the 3 coefficient of 5c plus 7m?

5 and 7 are two coefficient. And that is all. There is no third coefficient.

What are facts about coefficient in math terms?

Yes!The word "coefficient" usually refers to the number part of a term. Some examples:The coefficient in 7x is 7.The coefficient in -2y4z3 is -2.The coefficient in b2c3d4 is 1 (because you can think of there being a '1' in front)In the polynomial x3 + 4x2y - 5xy2 + 6y3, the coefficient of xy2 is -5.Technically, you could say that in the term 27fg4, 27 is the numerical coefficient, and fg4 is the literal coefficient.
