Yes there are. This is where mathematics gets more complicated, and it is called 'imaginary' or 'unreal' numbers. Commonly i=(-1)1/2 meaning the square root of negative 1, and i is used instead of the number. Look up complex numbers where imaginary and real numbers are combined. Commonly it can be transferred to a real number if i can be squared because it will equal -1.
