A Venn diagram is a way to illustrate sets and their relation to each other. It would be much easier to explain with paper and pencil, but here goes:
Suppose you have two sets, A = {2.4.6.8.10,12}, and B = {3,6,9,12}. Draw two ovals which overlap. Outside the left one, write "A", and write "B" next to the other. In the overlapping area, write the numbers 6 and 12. In the rest of the A oval, write 2, 4, 8, and 10. In the rest of the B oval, write 3 and 9. Now the A oval contains all the number in the set A, and the B oval contains all the numbers in set B. The overlapping section contains the numbers in A⋂B, the left space is AnotB and the right space is BnotA. The entire area inside the two ovals is A⋃B.
