Squaring 5'8" and 7'9¼", adding the squares, then finding the square root of the sum gives you about 9' 7.41". If the oche is a strip of tape, the measurement is to the board side of the tape. In the case of a raised oche, like a long block of wood, the measurement is to the thrower's side of the block.
