The other 2 angles measure 40 degrees each.

In an isosceles triangle two angles are the same and the third is different.

However, the angles in the triangle must add up to 180.

If the 100 degree angle was one of the 2 identical angles, then the angles in the triangle would add up to more than 200

Because of this the 100 degree angle must be the different angle.

180-100=80

80/2=40

Therefore the other angles are each 40 degrees

(Perhaps not the most eloquent answer but it's the general gist)

Can a right triangle be both a scalene and isosceles?

Sometimes an isosceles triangle but never a scalene triangle with 3 interior acute angles.

Why is it possible for an isosceles triangle to be an acute explain?

It is possible for an isosceles triangle to be an acute triangle because, in an acute triangle all the angles have to be less than 90o.

Can a right triangle be both scalene and isosceles Explain.?

Yes

Can a right triangle also be an isosceles triangle or can it be an equilateral triangle explain?

A right triangle can be an isosceles triangle, because the definition of an isosceles triangle is a triangle that has 2 sides equal to each other. A 45,45,90 degree triangle has 2 sides equal to each other, while the hypotenuse is different. It cannot be an equilateral triangle because of the formula a^2+b^2=c^2. With this formula, there is no possible way that: a, b, and c can all be equal to each other. To recap: It can be an isosceles triangle, but not an equilateral one.

Can a triangle with a right angle also be an isosceles triangle explain?

Of course it can be. It can be anything like x units each of perpendicular and base, and hypotenuse of square root of 2 times x.

How many lines of symmetry in a triangleplease explain in simple words?

That will depend on what type of triangle it is because an equilateral triangle has 3 lines of symmetry whereas an isosceles triangle has only 1 line of symmetry and other triangles have no lines of symmetry.
