Actually, this answer is already rounded. If you had a number after the 4 (the last 4 in the number) that is the number 5 (actually 50) or more, then the tenths place would be rounded up to the nearest one decimal number, which would be 5.

Remember:

Let's say for example, you have a number: 1234.567

1 = thousands place

2 = hundreds place

3 = tens place

4 = ones

5 = tenth

6 = hundredth

7 = thousandth

If rounding to ten, the second four would become 0, while the first stays the same.

To round a number to the nearest tenth, you first need to know what the tenth place is. The tenth place is the number right to the right of the decimal place. In the number 3.44, this would be the first 4 (3.44).

When you round, you have to decide if you are going to round up or round down. To do this, you look at the number in the hundredth place. This would be the second number to the right of the decimal place. In the case of 3.44 this number is 4 (3.44). If this number is between 0 and 4, you round down (the number in the tenth place stays the same). If this number is between 5 and 9, you round up (the number in the tenth place moves one value up).

Since the number in the hundredths place of 3.44 is 4, you are going to round down to 3.4.
